Yalda Hakim – born June 1983 – is a news presenter at Sky News
Hakim fronts World News on the channel at 9.00pm on Monday-Thursdays.
In December 2012, it was announced that Hakim would join the BBC. She first appeared on BBC World News and the BBC News Channel in March 2013.
Yalda was born in Kabul, Afghanistan and came as a refugee to Australia, where she grew up.
She is the founder of the Yalda Hakim Foundation, which has established scholarships for disadvantaged Afghan girls to receive an education.
Yalda left the BBC at the end of 2023.
